I failed and was sent to Boston
Hi ,
When I was 16 years old I was shipped off to Boston.
I had just failed my drivers test because I could not parallel park. I was going to spend the weekend with my Aunt Paulette.
At the time it was the worst thing to happen to me. But… by the time I left Boston I could park a car anywhere.
My aunt had lived in Paris and was an expert at parallel parking. She taught me all her tricks. To this day I can park a car anywhere, from any side, on the busiest streets when the pressure is on.
I thought of this as I was making my latest video for you. You see, in this video I show you how to teach your dog to go to place.
Your dog is going to learn how to get on his bed and stay there. Your dog will not come off the bed until you give permission. Pretty nifty little command to teach wouldn’t you agree?
I often describe this as “Parking your dog.”
There are times you need to park your dog for a few minutes. Please don’t get your panties in a bunch over the term. I once had someone tell me it is mean to “Park your dog.”
In this video I “park” my dog Skye for a few minutes while I vacuum my car. Much better to park and keep them safe then letting them run around when it is not safe.
Anyway, in today’s Dog Training video I break it down step by step. Here is what you’ll discover:
- Two of the most important words your dog must learn for functional obedience 1:14
- Why you should teach your dog the place command 2:41
- The most important part of teaching commands 4:38
- The easiest way to start teaching your dog place 7:49
- Extremely important lesson on teaching obedience commands 8:55
- How to increase the length of time your dog stays on place 10:59
- How to send your dog to place. Teach your dog to run over and jump on the bed 12:02
And much more…..

All the best,
