My husband and I adopted a mixed breed dog named Jamo while we were overseas several years ago and he’s been a delight to have with one major exception: he has pretty serious leash aggression. When he sees another dog while he’s being walked on leash, he cannot control himself and acts out in a fit of doggy rage – barking, snarling, lunging, etc.
We had tried other training programs and dog trainers, with minimal success. Jamo was still acting out on leash and we felt like we had wasted our time and money. Within the first day of consultation and training, he displayed an immediate change in behavior we did not know was possible. Karen showed us that not only was our dog capable of correcting his behavior, but that he was capable of this the whole time! We just needed the tools to craft his behavior in a more positive direction, and Karen gave us those tools.
She left us with specific instructions, a packet of information, and her contact information in case we needed to get in touch with her for any sort of follow up. It still took daily training sessions with Jamo to get him to where he is today, but the difference we’ve seen in his behavior is nothing short of amazing. We can enjoy our daily walks with him now, instead of always being nervous of how Jamo will react when we run into other dogs. Karen has tremendously improved our quality of life.
